Neutral Density Filters – ND
ND filters are used to control the exposure time of a scene at the time of capture. While the dynamic range of the scene can be controlled using a GND filter the photographer can also introduce the element of control of the exposure time in order to have more artistic input over the final captured image. The degree of control of the exposure time depends on the strength of the ND filter used and the resultant image can be seen on digital cameras immediately after capture. Accurate IR coatings on Kase filters yield true neutral colour within a captured image without the colour casts normally associated with long exposure photography.
